Undergraduate Programmes :: Computing

What's the difference between ...

MEng (Hons) / BEng (Hons) Software Engineering and BSc (Hons) Software Engineering employ the latest technologies and programming languages to develop a sound theoretical understanding and in-depth practical experience of designing, constructing and modifying a wide range of software systems and managing large software projects.

Whilst the MEng, BEng and BSc programmes are substantially similar, the MEng / BEng programmes aim to prepare the student for becoming a chartered professional software engineer. As such they are more rigorous and consequently allows fewer options choices for elective courses.

Additionally the MEng allows students to take a further Masters level year, including a team project, and leads to more complete academic development as a chartered professional. However, students need not feel that they have to decide before starting the programme as there are opportunities to transfer from BEng to MEng and vice-versa at the end of each year.
