2005 Dennis Wratten award of the British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society.
2013 Fellowship of the British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society, award for contributions in Cinematography.

Biography
Have worked on various Feature Film Productions primarily as a Director of Photography
from 1992 onwards. Notable features include LoTR, The Hobbit and Jurassic Park.

Various projects related to Cinematography and high definition television. Resulting papers published in the
Journal of the SMPTE and the Journal of the BKSTS over many years.

Currently working with the Government of Iraq, Ministry of Higher Education and Directorate of Cinema on the development of a new film school at the University of Suliamania. This work is funded by the Government of IRAQ (Kurdish region).

Working on a major project concerning the education of graduate level film makers in Northern Iraq. First film production for this completed and accepted by the British Society of Cinematograhers for a major industry screening to be held shortly.

Work with the motion control company Mo-Sys on a new research project for the special effects industry

New Astonomical Telescope


Currently working with AMPAS on the Image Interchange Framework project with AMPAS, the ASC and the BSC. An active member of the IIF development team.

BKSTS Council member and Director working in the field of film school approval - the BKSTS are the body HESA recognises for approval of courses in this field.

Research/Scholarly interests
Various research projects principally involving the Film Industry.

Originally working in the Supercomputer field, Cambridge, Boston MA culminating as a senior engineer at Thinking Machines Corporation, late 1980's assigned to work as the principal engineer on Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park.
