Biography
Professor Liz Bacon BSc, PhD, CEng, CSci, FBCS, CITP, FHEA, is Vice President and Trustee of the BCS (Chartered Institute for IT), Chair of the BCS Academy of Computing, and is a past Chair of the Council of Professors and Heads of Computing. She is / has been involved in many professional activities during her career such as working with e-skills UK, the Science Council, Parliamentary IT Committee (PICTFOR), EQANIE (European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education), the National HE STEM Programme and being an ICT Thought Leader for the University of Cambridge International Examinations. Liz is a joint Director of the eCentre, research group and has been involved in e-learning research for more than 10 years, this includes work on personalisation, serious games and enterprise development. She is an experienced systems designer and developer, with the bulk of her research and practice activity being directly industry facing, through knowledge transfer and consultancy.
