Biography
Acting as First Year Personal Tutor, Alumni Co-Ordinator and MathSoc Co-Ordinator, I am passionate about student support and the student experience, and am always looking for ways to develop my teaching. My particular areas of interest are in cryptography, number theory and the history and relevance of mathematics to our daily lives. I am the author of successful books promoting an understanding of basic mathematics, and I specialise in explaining the use and relevance of mathematics to those less confident. Outside of University life, I have the misfortune to support Nottingham Forest football club, I watch a variety of sports, am desperate to rediscover my pool-hustling form, and I make vain attempts to learn Russian.
Research/Scholarly interests
Author for foundation level mathematics books, research has included group theory, complexity, wireless networks and energy management.
