Prospective Students :: Visiting
There are a number of ways to visit the University of Greenwich, and in particular the School of Computing & Mathematical Sciences (CMS):
University Open Days: Run all year round, mostly on Saturdays, these are a good chance to find out about the University and all the different degrees it offers, and visit the Greenwich campus and its facilities, including the halls of residence. You will be able to meet and talk to staff from the CMS school as well as finance, accommodation and student services. You can find the dates, see the details and register online all year round.
CMS Taster Courses: With three free courses usually run on the same day in early July, these are a chance to see what it's like to be a student and spend a day trying out some of the technology you will be using. The taster days are organised centrally by the University of London; you can find the dates, see the schedule and register online between April and July.
CMS Discovery Days: CMS also offers the possibility of group visits, usually from schools based in South and East London. These can be targetted towards specific group interests such as multimedia or computer networking. Teachers and FE lecturers are welcome to contact us via the online enquiry system to discuss the possibilities.
Summer University: The Summer University Learning Programme offers a number of free short courses in June, July, August and September - develop essential study skills, enhance your career prospects, experience university life or simply study for enjoyment. You can find the dates, see the details and register online.
In person: The Greenwich campus is part of the Old Royal Naval College, a magnificent world heritage site which is open to the public daily. Although you may not necessarily be able to visit the University facilities, you can take a walk around and see the painted hall and the chapel for free (the site is also adjacent to the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Park and the Greenwich Royal Observatory).
