Prospective Students :: International Students

The University of Greenwich welcomes students from around the globe: from over one hundred countries, speaking as many languages. If you come to study in CMS you will discover an exciting, diverse and friendly multicultural environment, as well as being a student in London, one of the world's great cities.

There are a number of resources available to international students, both when applying and when studying:

  • The International Office is the first stop for all aspects of applying for a place through to your arrival to study with us. They have links with overseas universities, attend British Council exhibitions and interview students, amongst many other things. Their website also includes pages for many individual countries giving specific information and local contact details.
  • The International Student Advice Service aim to support your studies once you are here. They can help with all aspects of student life including immigration information and visas, study skills and English classes through to social events and meeting fellow students.
  • The School of Humanities & Social Sciences runs free English language support classes for all non-native speakers (native speakers also welcome).
  • SUUG (Students' Union University of Greenwich) is run by students for students. As well as putting on social events and running bars, they have many clubs and societies - if you can't find one in the list that suits you, you can even form one yourself.

International Graduates Scheme
The International Graduates Scheme (IGS) was launched on 1 May 2007 (replacing the Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme). It enables non-EEA students who have successfully completed and obtained a degree, Master's degree or PhD, to work in the UK for up to 12 months upon completion of their studies. All international students graduating from the University of Greenwich qualify. For more details, see the Home Office web pages.

ORSAS awards for non-EU students
Prospective PhD students may apply for an ORSAS award to help to pay for some of their tuition fees.

Summer internships
Unfortunately the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences does not run a summer internship programme and we do not normally take on interns.
