Computing Facilities: The University has over 1000 computers for student use and provides each student with access to computing facilities operated by Learning Services. These include Internet access, e-mail, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office and Acrobat Reader. There are also wireless facilities throughout campus available for all students.

In addition, the School of Computing & Mathematical Sciences (CMS) provides over 400 high-specification computers for use by CMS students only. CMS facilities also include a fully equipped multimedia suite, dedicated hardware, networking and mobile computing laboratories and a wide range of specialist leading-edge software to support the programmes offered by the School. Through our academic licensing scheme, students have access to the majority of the Microsoft development packages free of charge. A dedicated Mac lab which hosts a variety of games development and 3D animation courses is also available.

The School also has a team of dedicated technical support staff who provides specialised support to its students and manages its own network of over 50 Windows and Unix servers, including dedicated web, database (ORACLE, SQL) and multimedia servers. Finally, the School provides access for students to work from home if necessary and most teaching materials are available online.

Library Facilities: The Dreadnought Building houses the campus library, which hosts a wide range of books relevant to courses in Computing, Mathematical and Statistical areas. As well as the printed word, information in the form of audio visual and electronic services are also available.
Sporting Facilities: Sporting facilities available at the University include a gymnasium, fitness rooms, tennis courts and a running track.
The Students Union: The students union provide various services to students including bars, entertainment, clubs, shops, training and jobs.
