Postgraduate Programmes :: Part-Time

The main MSc course specifically intended for part-time study is MSc/MA Management of Business Information Technology. It has been designed to run in evening-only mode and should be attractive to mature students working in industry. It is a practitioner's course and does not require that an applicant have a first degree in computing. The course offers in-depth coverage of important concepts, technology training and application design. It has also been designed for employability in areas where there is a shortage of trained personnel.

Department of Computer Science
All MSc programmes in the Department of Computer Science are available in part-time evening-only mode. However students may be restricted as to which optional courses they can take, as not all options are available in the evenings.

Department of Computer Systems Technology
The Applied Mathematical Modelling & Scientific Computing suite of programmes are usually available to part-time students (except for MSc Computer Applications & Engineering and MSc Scientific & Engineering Software), although there is not normally any provision for evening-only study. Part-time students are therefore expected to attend daytime classes alongside full-time students.

All other MSc programmes in the Department of Computer Systems Technology are available in part-time evening-only mode. However students may be restricted as to which optional courses they can take, as not all options are available in the evenings.

Department of Information Systems & Digital Media
All MSc programmes in the Department of Information Systems & Digital Media are usually available to part-time students, although (apart from Management of Business IT, and IT with Web Management) there is not normally any provision for evening-only study. Part-time students are therefore expected to attend daytime classes alongside full-time students.

Another exception is MSc Computer & Information Systems which can also be studied in partial day-release/evening mode by attending on a Tuesday afternoon and evening. However, students may be restricted as to which optional courses they can take, as not all options are available at those times.
