Computer Systems & Networking is a specialist programme with an emphasis on all aspects of networking. Mobile Computing & Communications also specialises in networking, but contains extra content on wireless and mobile aspects. Both of these programmes assume some knowledge of networking gained at undergraduate level.
Computer Forensics & Systems Security is suitable for both the newcomer to computer security and computer forensics and the practitioner who wishes to further their skills. There will be hands-on training in current forensic tools, as used by the police, e.g. EnCase, FTK, WinHex, etc. Graduates will therefore be able to contribute quickly to the well-being of corporate IT and informational assets.
Computer Forensics & Security Management concentrates on technical security, security policy management and legal complaince issues. It is a specific programme for those wishing to become risk managers/security technicians in industry. It is a good preparation for the professional exams CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
Network & Computer Systems Security is designed for graduates with a good first degree in computer science, information systems or other computing related subject, with some knowledge of computer networks studied at undergraduate level. It is suitable for both new graduates wishing to specialise in computer security and IT professionals who wish to further their skills and move into this area.
