MSc Information Technology with ...
This exciting suite of programmes is designed for graduates with a good first degree, who have had no formal academic training in computing.
They are especially useful for those with an interest in getting into the IT-related job market, or who are already working in the area but would like formal training and up-to-date skills.
They have been designed to provide specialism in the areas of security and e-business. Students will specialise in the area of their choice and will undertake a project in the area of their specialism.
Students can choose to follow one of the following programmes:

However, the rapidly changing nature of the subject area means that both the courses offered, and individual course content, are likely to change in future years.
Finally note that certain combinations of options may not be available.
For details of timetabling and study patterns, see the timetables page. Masters students take 120 credits of taught courses and undertake a 60-credit project. All courses are 15 credits unless otherwise stated.
Students on both programmes take the following core courses:

Technologies
Typical technologies taught on this programme include: VBA; Javascript; ASP; PHP; HTML; XML; Access; SQL.
Note that some of these technologies are taught on optional courses, so we cannot guarantee that you will be exposed to them all.
Specifics
Entry requirements
A good first degree in any discipline. Those who have substantial commercial or industrial experience but lack formal qualifications should seek an interview with the programme leader.

Career opportunities
Upon successful completion of this master's programme students should be proficient in the development of internet, web and database technologies. They will also have developed the project management skills required for IT consultancy and strategic decision making. Students graduating from IT with Security would typically be in a position to become IT Security Managers or IT Security Auditors. Students graduating from IT with e-Business would be in a position to become Business Analysts or consultants.
