About the Department
Our department runs a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which provide students with knowledge and skills in the area of mobile computing, networking, computer security, forensics, hardware, embedded devices and intelligent systems. The programmes cover software and hardware technologies as well as more theoretical studies that underpin everyday practice.
We have labs dedicated for this type of work which is fed by leading edge research. Our teaching is underpinned by internationally recognised research, advanced consultancy and professional activities. Our staff consists mostly of expert teachers, industrial practitioners, consultants and researchers who draw from their experience to provide a high quality and industrially relevant learning experience for our students.
Applications include computer Security and forensics, robotics, intelligent homes and signage, wearable devices which could automatically monitor person's health. Students are also taught relevant personal, professional and employability skills so vital for a successful career in this industry. Our students are equipped with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills, making them highly employable in many industrial areas.
